The Ecclesiastical Bachelor of Divinity is a five-year part-time distance-learning degree programme in theology providing a comprehensive exposition and analysis of Christian doctrine based on the study of the sacred Scriptures, the works of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church, and the documents of the Magisterium. Avondale offers a wide range of study options in ministry and theology, giving you the opportunity to prepare for life as a minister, chaplain, educated and skilled layperson or as an academic in the field of theology. Each course is designed to assist you to develop a greater understanding of yourself, the world- pas, present and future- and to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to build a strong church and community. You will be taught by expert qualified staff who have both pastoral experience and specialised postgraduate education.
This programme enables graduates to become community leaders through a wide variety of media projects (e.g. NGO, churches, production companies, advertising agencies). We aim to produce media workers who approach their task from deep Christian convictions and acquire the theology, biblical studies and media knowledge, tools and skills that these studies can provide.
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a bachelor’s pass or equivalent;
