Our Arabic courses are designed for beginner or 'false beginner' entrants – students who may be able to read the Arabic script, and/or have completed the equivalent of one or two years of part-time study. We may need to test you to determine your entry point.

This exciting course in BA (Hons) in English with TESOL offers you the professional, specialized knowledge and skills you need to teach English as a second language while also exploring aspects of the English language, linguistics, and literature. It has been designed to meet the requirements of a TEFLi status in English Language Teaching/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

BA in English with Creative Writing Students undertaking English at Queen's explore literatures in English in the widest possible sense and work with some of the leading writers working in the UK and Ireland. From the earliest writings in Anglo-Saxon to contemporary Irish, British, and 'global' literature, students study English in its historical, cultural, and material contexts.

If you're interested in both theatre and literature, this course is ideal. It offers knowledge and experience of the world of theatre through studying drama, literature, dramatic theory and performance. It also offers a range of practical theatre skills.

This course is designed for learners who aim to enhance their knowledge of the English language and literature while engaging with education themes, including teaching young learners and English testing and management. The course aims to prepare students to become effective teachers, managers or leaders in a variety of educational settings e.g. state and private higher education institutions, colleges and schools, as well as language academies, testing centres, consultancies or governmental agencies.

In the first year you will study introductory modules, such as Introduction to English Literature and Western Civilisation.

This degree allows you to study texts from throughout English literary history, from Beowulf to Alice Munro's The View from Castle Rock (2007).
