The BFA in Music Scoring & Composition is designed for those students who wish to focus on music composition and scoring for film, television, games, and other visual media. Balancing musicianship training with production skills to reflect a changing music industry, students will learn music theory, composition, harmony, orchestration, and arranging, focusing on creating emotion through music in synchronization with visual media.

The Bachelor's degree is designed to help you create strong, focused songs that perfectly blend your lyrical ideas with powerful melodies. You will learn key concepts in form, structure, melodic development, harmony, top-lining, and writing for ensembles using acoustic and electronic instrumentation.

Composition studies, harmony and voice leading, music analysis, and instrumentation are at the core of the program. As a bachelor’s student, you will complete instrument studies and learn about aural skills, music history, and electroacoustic music. You can also choose courses organized by the other two academies of the University and complete joint studies that are available for all students.

Trevecca’s Bachelor of Music in theory and composition is a professional degree accredited by the National Association of the Schools of Music which equips you with knowledge and skills in both traditional and technological compositional methods. You’ll be prepared to compose for traditional genres as well as for commercials, television, movies, and video games.

The Bachelor of Science in Music, Composition Concentration degree, is designed for students seeking a liberal arts degree in music that focuses on preparing them for a career as a composer.

The BMus Music Composition for film course is designed to give you a broad range of skills to maximise your employability. You will develop high-level skills in composing music for all forms of visual media, with each level building on the knowledge gained from the previous one.

The Bachelor of Music (BM) program is a 12 quarter full-time program. Three majors are available for the BM degree, Music Performance, Music Production, and Composition. The Music Performance major offers emphases in Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Vocal. The Music Production major offers an emphasis in Music Producing & Recording, and the Composition Major offers an emphasis in Songwriting.

This degree is designed to train students for careers in jazz, popular or commercial music performance and/or instruction.
