The Bachelor of Theology is an undergraduate degree program that provides broad instruction in the history, theology, and cultural traditions of Christianity. This program equips students for critical thinking, encourages the development of personal faith, and supports your understanding and respect for those of other religious traditions. It can be done in 2 years (with a previous undergraduate degree) or 4 years (with high school completed). The degree is presently PGWP eligible.

Students will incorporate practical skills into their learning through practicum activities each year. They will have opportunities to complete paid summer pastoral internships. Their ministry courses will incorporate training in cutting edge technologies for digital communication through a partnership with the Burman Ministry Centre. Graduates from the Department of Religious Studies are ready to demonstrate Biblical teachings in all aspects of their ministry and are prepared to tackle graduate studies in a wide range of fields.

For those who wish to gain an in-depth understanding of world culture and history while studying journalism, Carleton offers a Bachelor of Journalism and Humanities degree. Students in this intensive degree program spend about 40 per cent of their time taking core journalism courses. They receive professional training in writing and reporting, professional ethics and media law, and learn the skills appropriate to newspaper, radio, television and new media journalism. BJ-Hum students spend the rest of their time studying art history, classics, literature, philosophy, political science and religion. Few degree programs provide such a balance between focus and breadth.
