Based in London, the course offers access to museums, theatres, and diverse literary works.

The BA English Language and Literature is an innovative threefold degree programme that is comprised of English language teaching methodology, English literature and linguistics modules. The students will study the linguistic systems underlying language, exploring in detail how the language is structured, acquired, used and taught. In addition, the relationship between text, language, reader and author, society, economy, politics, culture and the individual will be explored. The courses of the linguistics component aim to provide students with a thorough grounding of the principles underpinning the study of language and the diversity of linguistic study. The teaching modules aim to provide students with knowledge and skills relevant to teaching English with an emphasis on classroom management and the use of technology. The courses in literature in English target the critical analysis of literary texts and films of different historical periods, geographical locations and genres.

The BA Program in the Archaeology, History, and Literature of Ancient Greece brings together three collaborating disciplines from the field of Classics; the Program’s multi-disciplinary curriculum, taught by a diverse staff consisting of highly specialized academics and senior researchers, combines the strengths of the three disciplines in a single, innovative Degree: Archaeology, History, Ancient Greek and Latin Literature.

This BA (Honours) in Arts and Humanities (English Literature) degree gives you the freedom to combine the study of different subject areas in the arts and humanities. You'll develop a specialism in English literature, exploring a range of texts across different periods and places. You can combine this with a second specialism or choose to develop broader interests in art history, classical studies, creative writing, English language, history, modern languages, music, philosophy, and religious studies.

Our BA (Hons) English Language and Literatures course offers a unique opportunity to study at the crossroads of English language and world literature. The BA in English Literature emphasizes the historical and cultural understanding of the development of literature in English from the Anglo-Saxon period to the 21st century, in addition to the theory of various literary genres.

Students are introduced to the major in English Literature, sharpen their analytical skills in Literary Criticism, and complete a scholarly Senior Literature Capstone project mentored by two members of the English Literature faculty. They also choose courses from the whole history of English and American literature, in all genres, along with selected courses in Irish, Canadian, Russian, and World literature.

This programme is delivered via Blended Learning to mature students wishing to take these subjects to degree level outside of the traditional daytime mode. As a result, students will be able to take a programme that will more closely meet their educational and lifestyle choices. The programme offers the option of a diploma after two years or an honours degree after successful completion of four years.
