Our BSc Conservation of Objects in Museums and Archaeology will equip you with the skill set required to be a practising conservator. As a graduate of this programme, you will be able to develop, execute, report and record evidence-based strategies and actions for preserving historic and archaeological objects. 

Combine critical studies in art history and theory with extensive hands-on museum and gallery experience. Study visual, material and cultural production from a global perspective and develop a frame of reference for understanding imagery and material culture. Gain a deeper knowledge of historical and contemporary art practices through your studies and your work with the University’s extensive art collection of more than 16,000 objects, learning to manage and conserve artwork, and curate exhibitions.

This major mainly cultivates comprehensive knowledge of humanities and social sciences and high management quality, masters the basic theories of history, cultural tourism, museology and management, and has the development of cultural heritage resources, Basic knowledge and skills of assessment and management, senior applied and compound talents suitable for cultural heritage development and management.

Students completing the program will understand the core concepts and theories about museum studies, archival administration, historic preservation, and Local History. Through experiential learning, they will acquire the skills to present History to the public by completing projects such as museum exhibits, archival finding aids, community history programming, and digital resource creation.

The mission of the Museum Studies program is to provide an introduction to the various aspects and a fundamental understanding of the museum profession. Through the study of museums, their practices, history, and philosophies, students are provided with a strong foundation for beginning their museum career exploration.
