The International Studies (IS) Transnational Studies Minor offers an opportunity to learn about this interconnectedness by examining the various phenomena that transcend national boundaries without requiring a study-abroad semester.

Study the lived experiences of women, both past and present, and their active involvement in the world. Analyze how the cultural and social construction of gender has impacted women throughout history.

As humans, many of our choices and actions have ethical ramifications. As a value theory minor, you’ll examine how ethical systems intersect with many aspects of our lives, from public policy, law, business, and the environment to medicine, neuroscience, and data science. The goal is to question and refine your own values.

Examine gender as a social construction—and as a lived reality. Interrogate what it means to be gendered in today’s society, and how that intersects with sexuality, race and ethnicity, nationality, culture, ability, and class.
