BSc (Hons) Dietetics strive to provide the best possible nutritional care for clients with acute and chronic health conditions. As part of this course, you’ll: Learn to interpret and communicate the science of nutrition and understand how to use dietary manipulation and food to treat disease and optimise health.

This specialization builds on the BSc in Nutrition and Food Science degree to focus on Dietetics and Nutrition. Be part of an interprofessional healthcare team translating scientific, medical, and nutritional information into practical, individualised diets and meal plans for people.

The department is designed to educate you as an individual and as a citizen in a changing society. They also develop a scientific attitude and the ability to conduct research directed toward solutions to problems affecting the quality of life for individuals, families and communities.

Job prospects are bright for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists—especially those who graduate from UNC’s accredited dietetics bachelor’s degree program. About 75 percent of our students (above the national average) are admitted to postgraduate internships, which are required before you can take the national board examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) in the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences (HNFAS) is the only dietetics program offered in Hawai'i. Students are expected to rigorously apply their knowledge and skills in food science and nutrition for daily living and good health.

The Bachelor of Science degree program in nutrition is designed to educate a new generation of nutrition practitioners, providing their clients with an integrative approach to nutrition.

The Coordinated Program in Dietetics offered by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences aims to prepare graduates who are competent entry-level dietitians. The program's mission is to prepare competent graduates who are highly qualified entry-level dietitians, to improve the nutritional well-being and health of the UAE population.
