Introduction
The course
Economics is one of the areas of knowledge that is changing more quickly. The network of decisions taken by institutions that form the international market today, impacts industries and careers. The graduation in Economic Sciences at Ibmec in Rio de Janeiro aims to train professionals capable of analyzing complex issues that involve the inconstancies of the financial market and the economic impacts at a national and global level, giving them conditions to compete for the best positions in the national and international market, whether in consultancies, in the financial sector and in teaching and research institutions.
With special emphasis on training in modern economic theory (microeconomics, macroeconomics and finance) and quantitative methods (mathematics, statistics and econometrics), the course combines the scientific, analytical and quantitative rigor traditional in the area of exact sciences with the applied and pragmatic perspective of major international business schools introducing students directly to economics. The dynamics of the classes propose challenges that stimulate intellectual development.
Ibmec believes in practice-oriented excellence by offering a set of supplementary activities that deepen the development of market skills and a spirit of collaboration and integration. At the Center for Entrepreneurship and Internationalization - CEI, students can work from the first semester at the business consulting company Ibmec Jr, at the Capital Market Studies Center - CEMEC, at the Economic Conjuncture Analysis Group and at the Finance Research Center . Or you can still take advantage of the international scope through agreements in more than 54 institutions around the world.
