The course

In a world transformed by communication technologies, the consequences of information transmission impact almost every aspect of our lives. The Social Communication - Journalism course at Ibmec in Rio de Janeiro prepares professionals to work in what the market is today and what it is becoming. Therefore, it is the only degree in Journalism in Rio de Janeiro to be evaluated with the highest score by the MEC. The course offers a wide variety of elective disciplines so that the student can direct his training with autonomy and a solid theoretical and practical basis, whether for work in communication vehicles, corporate communication, social media or entrepreneurship. Training aimed at understanding the value of communication in a democratic and globalized society. From the processes of news production, distribution and financing to its role in the functioning of the market.

Ibmec 's strong business DNA offers proximity to other areas of knowledge that can complement the formation of a journalist's career. The student can also work from the first semester in junior companies, such as Agência 217, made up of students from the Communication and Marketing area with the purpose of solving their clients' problems in an innovative way, and CODE- Content on Demand, where Journalism students cover Ibmec events and other external events, such as FLIP 2013.

At the Center for Entrepreneurship and Internationalization - CEI, students can work in companies from the first semester and take advantage of the international scope through agreements in more than 54 institutions around the world.

COMMUNICATION VEHICLES Production and editing of news and articles in print media, radio, television and online. Participation in event coverage. Editing content and coordinating teams of journalists.

CORPORATE COMMUNICATION Communication consultancy, press assistance, preparation of releases and corporate communications, preparation and execution of internal and institutional communication planning.

NEW MEDIA Construction of websites and content portals, relationship through social networks, production and execution of programs for online transmission such as videos and podcasts.

MARKETING Management of brands and products, customer service, development of public relations policies and guidelines for business communication with the market.

UNIVERSITIES Professor and researcher at colleges and teaching and research institutes.
