Introduction
The Bachelor's Program in Technology and Engineering Science enables you to become an expert in multidisciplinary fields of engineering. It covers interdisciplinary topics from essential fields of engineering, enhanced by language studies, entrepreneurship training, and transferable skills.
The program gives you the competence to solve multidisciplinary engineering problems, manage projects, work in multicultural teams or become an entrepreneur. The program provides extensive hands-on experience and applies theories and techniques from a broad range of engineering fields to practice through interdisciplinary projects.
In this Bachelor's program, you will focus on essential and applicable engineering disciplines, integrating studies of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology, and environmental technology. As a student, you can freely choose a specialization during your second academic year.
The Bachelor's degree gives you a sound basis and a direct route to further studies in LUT Master's programs in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology, or environmental technology.
Admissions
Curriculum
The Bachelor's program in Technology and Engineering Science is a three-year program. By completing the program you will receive the degree of Bachelor of Science in Technology, B.Sc. (Tech.), which is 180 ECTS credits.
The program includes general studies and intermediate specialization studies. Language and communication studies are also included in the program.
After completing this Bachelor's program, you will have a study right to continue your studies in some Master's programs at LUT in the fields of energy technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or environmental engineering. Note, that for some of the Master's programs you have to apply separately.
General studies, 104 ECTS credits
Include courses on engineering mathematics and physics, engineering mechanics, engineering thermodynamics, 3D modeling and technical documentation, electrical power engineering and electrical drives, power plant engineering, business, and sustainability.
Intermediate specialization studies, 49 ECTS credits
During your second year of studies, you will specialize in one of the following fields: electrical engineering, energy technology, mechanical engineering, or environmental technology. The intermediate specialization studies include project-based learning, and 15 ECTS credits.
Language studies, 15 ECTS credits
Language studies.
Elective studies, 2 ECTS credits
You can select any course at LUT.

Program Outcome
In this Bachelor's program, you will gain a solid foundation in a range of techniques to solve complex engineering problems, taking into account the growing general awareness of environmental technologies.
You will graduate within three academic years with a unique and adaptable multidisciplinary skill set that will meet the current demands of industry, education, and technology.
In this program, you will learn advanced mathematics skills, diverse engineering design skills, goal-oriented problem-solving, productive project work, transferable skills in entrepreneurship and engineering, and teamwork and language skills relevant to international industry.
This Bachelor's degree gives you a sound basis and a direct route to further studies in LUT Master's programs in the fields of electrical engineering, energy technology, environmental engineering, or mechanical engineering.
Scholarships and Funding
Programmes Technology and Engineering Science and Industrial Engineering and Management
- For the first academic year, there are no scholarships available
- For the second academic year, 50% scholarships will be granted for the students successfully completing the studies on the first academic year (min.of 60 ECTS credits)
- For the third academic year, 50% Tuition Fee Waiver will be granted for the students successfully completing min.120 ECTS credits in the first and second academic years.
- If the student continues their studies in a Master's programme after completing their Bachelor's studies at LUT University, the tuition fee for the first year of Master's studies is EUR 7 500.
Double degree programmes
The scholarships are awarded by the end of October in every academic year. If student is awarded the scholarship, the paid fee is returned partially according to the scholarship percentages.
There are three different categories of scholarships:
- Category I: Tuition Fee Waiver is 2/3 of the annual tuition fee
- Category II: Tuition Fee Waiver is 1/3 of the annual tuition fee
- Category III: Tuition Fee Waiver is EUR 1000
The number of the first year scholarship is calculated from the total amount of the paid tuition fees. The scholarship will not automatically continue for the second year.
The scholarship for the second and third year are awarded based on the GPA of the past academic year.
If the student continues their studies in a Master's programme after completing their Bachelor's studies at LUT University, the tuition fee for the first year of Master's studies is EUR 7 500.
