Introduction
Bachelor of International Management
Managers in industry and trade must be able to understand the complexity of international value adding and distribution processes. Not only do they have to have extensive knowledge in procurement and trade markets, but they must also help their company develop its own strategic focus on consumer behavior.
In the bachelor study course International Industry and Trade Management (abbreviated: International Management) in the School of Commerce at Neuss University for International Business you will be introduced to relevant parts of industry and trade management. You will gain practical insight in areas such as multichannel sales/distribution, supplier integration, end-user marketing as well as branding. During your studies, you will become competent in areas that will qualify you to do business in both national and international companies.
Both the content and organization of the curriculum are designed on an international basis. The content of the course studies deals with global value chains and trade connections. On the organizational level, integral parts of the study courses include a study semester abroad (in the dual program obligatory, in the vocational program optional) and foreign languages (Business English plus a second foreign language) as well as various events that will take place in English.
In addition, particular emphasis has been placed on both aspects of industry and trade. It was our intent to deal with these two areas in one course of study. Due to technical developments, on the one hand, more and more industrial firms are doing business themselves as partners in E/M commerce – and, on the other hand, dealers/retailers play an important role in the development of customer-oriented products. Moreover, it’s about management, how the analysis methods and tools taught at the university can be applied in a concrete daily work situation and also in projects in a national and international context.
The elective course modules enable you to combine according to your interests and field of work. These include numerous course options, for example, E-/Mobile Commerce Technologies, Store Planning and Design, Designing & Managing Industrial Operations, Multichannel Strategies, Business Psychology, Market Research, Energy, Economics and International Financial Markets.
