Introduction
The following course work prepares you for the study and management of rangelands through an integrated ecological approach with special emphasis on rangeland plants, livestock, wildlife, soils and watersheds. The coursework is also well-designed for those who want to continue studying in graduate school. Any undergraduate student majoring in Range Science must earn a grade of C- or higher in Range Science (RGSC prefix) courses to satisfy degree requirements. Students earning a D or F in a Range Science (RGSC prefix) course will be expected to repeat that course until the student earns a grade of C- or higher.
Bachelor of Science program in Range Science is your gateway to becoming a steward of our planet's vital rangelands. Our curriculum is meticulously designed to cover all facets of rangeland management, utilizing an integrated ecological perspective. With special emphasis on rangeland plants, livestock, wildlife, soils, and watersheds, students gain a holistic understanding of these complex ecosystems.
Our program not only equips students for fulfilling careers in rangeland management but also provides an excellent foundation for those considering graduate studies in related fields. It's important to note that to meet degree requirements, a minimum grade of C- is required in all Range Science (RGSC prefix) courses. Students who earn a grade lower than C- in a Range Science course are expected to retake that course until they achieve a grade of C- or higher.
Join us at NMSU's Range Science program, where you'll gain the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact on the conservation and management of rangeland ecosystems, ensuring their sustainability for future generations.
