Introduction
Siena Heights has established a national reputation with its Theater/Speech and Dance program. Under the Theatre Siena, the department umbrella is theater, educational theater, musical theater, and technical theater. The faculty are working professionals in every major area of today’s theater market.
Theatre Siena has an ambitious production schedule that has students immersed in productions throughout the academic year.
The SHU Theatre Department at Siena Heights University also offers scholarships at one of the best Midwest college theater programs. High school seniors and transfers who plan to major in Theater/Musical Theater can schedule an audition during their campus visit.
Clubs And Organizations
The Alpha Psi Omega national theater fraternity is one of the oldest organizations on the Siena Heights campus. It boasts a large membership nationally and is open to not only theater majors, but to those students who excel in theater at Siena Heights.

Arts Scholarship Days
Siena Heights University conducts Arts Scholarship Days for prospective students.
High school seniors and transfer students who would like to major in music, art, or theater or perform in the choir, band, marching band, orchestra, or jazz band can schedule an audition or portfolio review and campus visit during Arts Scholarship Days @ Siena. Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying students. In addition to their audition or portfolio review, students may have the opportunity to meet with current scholarship recipients over lunch, have an individual meeting with Admissions Counselor, and enjoy a campus tour.
Pre-registration is required.

Other Requirements
- Formal acceptance into the Theatre/Speech Communication Program is required.
- Students majoring in TSC are required to participate in the preparation of all department projects and productions.
- Students majoring in TSC are expected to acquire a grade of C or better for all courses taken in the major. A grade of D, E, or NC (No Credit) will not be accepted in the major.
- Each TSC major will have a formal critique with the entire TSC faculty at the end of each session. A written evaluation of this meeting will be given to each student and a copy of this report will be kept in each major’s file.
