The Shandong University of Technology was established in 1956 in Zibo, one of China’s most historic cities and the cradle of the ancient Qi Culture.
The University is renowned for its science and engineering with the prioritized support from Shandong Province. As one of the National Pilot Zones for Innovative Talents Training Mode program, SDUT is among the first group of pilot schools for "A Plan for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers" of national level and one of the pilot universities for the College English Teaching Reform in China. The University also serves as one of the training institutes for the National College Students Know About Business (KAB) Entrepreneurship Program and the National Information-based Education Program. Now SDUT has been entitled as “the Distinctive University in Training Applied Talents” by Shandong Province.
SDUT offers 75 undergraduate programs, 98 graduate programs, and 13 doctoral programs. Programs in the areas of Chinese Language and Literature, Engineering and Business are well regarded at home and abroad. SDUT offers a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Trade (International Logistics) in English special for international students. As one of the examination centers for HSK, SDUT accepts international students sponsored by the Chinese Government Scholarship and the Shandong Provincial Government Scholarship.
Our University has a staggering 32, 200 undergraduate students and 2,600 post-graduate students which includes our international students drawn from Kazakhstan, Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia, Ukraine, Pakistan, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Fiji, and Bangladesh. Until 2015, more than 3,000 international students from over 20 countries have graduated from SDUT. We welcome more international students to join us and study at SDUT.

About International Office
The Office of Int'l Coop & Exchange is a functional organization in charge of foreign affairs in the Shandong University of Technology. In order to push forward the process of educational globalization, SDUT actively carries out its opening up policy and has established friendly relations with over 50 institutions of higher education in U.K., USA, Australia, Ireland, Canada, Korea, New Zealand, and Spain, etc. Cooperation activities have covered such areas as staff exchange, student exchange, research cooperation, and joint educational programs.
Now, SDUT receives more than 100 visitors or groups every year and also sends large numbers of administrators or teachers to visit overseas universities, study, engage in cooperative research and also attend international academic conferences. We invite about 30 overseas experts to teach in SDUT each year. At the same time, several joint educational programs are being carried out in SDUT, such as two undergraduate programs with the University of Limerick, Ireland; two undergraduate programs with Konkuk University, Korea.
Since the establishment of the School of International Education, over 500 short-term or long-term international students from Kazakhstan, Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia, Ukraine, Pakistan, United Kingdom, and Egypt come to study in SDUT each year. The School of International Education has a team of professional and experienced teachers, each with Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language qualification. Thanks to the devotion of qualified teachers, excellent student services and the idyllic and tranquil study and living environment her at SDUT, more and more students are applying to study Chinese language and culture at our University.
About Zibo, Shandong
Zibo is based in central Shandong Province of China. It borders the provincial capital of Jinan to the west, Laiwu, and Tai'an to the southwest, Linyi to the south, Weifang to the east, Dongying to the northeast, and Binzhou in the north.
Zibo is an important transportation hub for travel in China. Zibo is made up of 5 districts, Zhangdian, Zichuan, Boshan, Zhoucun and Linzi each of which has its own distinct style and downtown area. The total area is 5,965 square kilometers. The total population of the city is 4.65 million.
Zibo is famous for being a historical state of Qi, which was once the most popular city in the east, about 2000 years ago. Zibo is the birthplace of ancient football Cuju, which according to FIFA, was the earliest form of the sport. Pu Songling, a world famous short story writer of the Ching Dynasty, is one of the city's numerous celebrities born and bred here. As the birthplace of Qi Culture and because of the abundant natural resources, it is an excellent tourist city in China. The Manufacturing industry holds an important place in the city's economy and of course, it has contributed a lot not only to the city itself but also to the whole country.
Zibo is also otherwise known as the Famous Industrial City, Capital of the Ceramics Production Base and City of Petrochemical Industry. After one hundred years of development, Zibo has a solid industrial foundation. The dominant industries are petrochemical industry, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, building materials, machinery, and textile, etc. High and new-technology industries, such as new materials, fine chemicals, electronics and information, and biological medicines, are developing rapidly.
