The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the UK's longest-established specialist providers of legal education. In fact, we've trained more practising lawyers in the UK than anyone else.

And with such close links between law and business, it makes sense that a specialist in legal education is well equipped to develop an excellent business school, The University of Law Business School.

With a firm focus on practical learning, our Business School aims to make students employable and ready to succeed in the workplace. We pride ourselves on creating the right learning environment for you to achieve your business aspirations. That’s why we’ve adapted techniques used on our legal courses with the aim of developing an engaging specialist learning experience that will prepare you for a career in the world of business.

The University of Law was awarded a silver rating in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF) in June 2019. We were found to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes for our undergraduate students and consistently exceed rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education.

Locations:

Our Business School operates at The University of Law campuses in London Bloomsbury, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham for undergraduate courses. Postgraduate courses are taught at our London Moorgate campus or in Berlin through our partnership with GISMA Business School. Each is a thriving commercial hub, ideally situated to give you great access to music venues, theatres, cinemas, bars and restaurants. Some of our postgraduate courses are also available 100% online.

All of our Business School tutors have real-world business experience.

Free Masters Offer (for undergraduate only)

The University of Law Business School is committed to supporting you every step of the way to your career destination. We strive to ensure that you’re fully equipped in terms of qualifications, skills and industry contacts to step straight into your chosen career. We’re therefore delighted to offer all students starting an undergraduate degree at the Business School with us in September 2019 or 2020 the opportunity to progress on to a business Masters course on successful completion of their undergraduate degree at no extra cost.

Careers and Employability:

Employability is at the heart of everything we do at the Business School. Our employability team will provide you with one-to-one advice on how to successfully engage with business contacts from major UK recruiters such as IBM, Lloyds of London and Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC), who you will meet through events, workshops and visits to organisations, enabling you to see first-hand how business operates in the real world. We also run entrepreneurship events involving guest speakers and innovation experts to support our students in starting their own businesses and developing an entrepreneurial mindset. The support you’ll receive, led and informed by employer practice, will maximise your ability to submit successful job applications, secure internships and hone your interview skills in our mock test centre.

International Leadership Summer School (for undergraduate students):

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting your ambitions, we are offering our 2019 undergraduate students the opportunity to attend our International Leadership Summer School in Berlin, where you can develop key soft skills and explore this exciting city with your fellow ULaw students.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI):

As some courses at the Business School are accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), students on these particular courses can gain automatic free membership for the duration of their course and for one year after completion.

Benefits include access to ManagementDirect; the UK’s largest management library along with access to the online resource portal including e-journals, company and industry reports as well as advice from over 300 hiring managers through The Career Development Centre.

You’ll get access to current job listings via the JobSearch database and a wealth of videos, tutorials and articles to develop your career and business skills. The online CMI mentoring community comprises over 120,000 members where you can be matched according to the skills, experience and industry of interest as well as finding out about CMI networking events that you can take part in.

On successful completion of one of our CMI accredited courses, you’ll also receive a qualification from the CMI in addition to your degree.

Supportive Environment:

We aim to support more students from across a variety of backgrounds than ever before to achieve their career ambitions, which is why we offer a range of scholarships and bursaries.

All students are given the opportunity to take full advantage of our facilities and services. The Disability Support Service is dedicated to managing any requirements you may have during your studies, including temporary assistance due to injury or illness.

Sports Facilities:

There are plenty of opportunities to get up and get fit at all of our campuses, if you want to exercise your body as well as your mind. Popular activities include Zumba, football, netball, rugby and tennis.

Clubs and Societies:

With a range of societies, sports teams and social events available at each of our campuses, you’re bound to find plenty to keep you busy and having fun between lectures. And at the beginning of your course, you can join a society, club or event of your choice, or create one of your own through the Student Association.

As the Business School is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), students gain automatic free membership for the duration of their course and for one year after completion.

Many of our courses have been accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the UK’s only chartered professional body offering the highly coveted Chartered Manager (CMgr) status. On successful completion of one of our courses, you’ll also receive a qualification from the CMI in addition to your degree.

Online Business Courses:

We provide world-class online learning for our postgraduate courses:

  • Study methods for all learning types: There is a study method to suit your style, with e-books, i-Tutorials, webinars, case studies, flashcards, audio files, motion graphics, real-time student chat rooms, online assessments, and more.
  • Dedicated Tutor Support: You will receive ongoing support and feedback on your work from a dedicated programme tutor through the duration of your course.

Accommodation:

For our undergraduate students, we’ve arranged accommodation with specialist UK student accommodation providers, to ensure you have a comfortable place to live whilst you’re studying with us. Accommodation is usually in shared flats, or in some cases self-contained studios.

For undergraduate students, we guarantee you an offer of accommodation in the first year of your degree, if you’ve accepted us as your firm choice and applied for accommodation by 30 March in the year of entry* (*T&Cs apply, details on The University of Law website, Undergraduate Accommodation page).

For postgraduate students, if you choose a campus away from home, our accommodation database can help you find a place to live, with the option to find privately rented property or shared accommodation with other ULaw students.

Open Days and Events:

Our Open Days are a great way to find out about our Business courses, check out our facilities, and meet our tutors and current students. There’ll be talks, taster sessions and tours, and you will have the chance to ask your questions. We’ll make your day as interesting and interactive as possible.

If you can’t make it to one of our on-campus Open Days, then from time to time, we’re also offering Online Open Days for our courses – so you still have the opportunity to find out what it’s like to study at The University of Law Business School, and ask your questions online.
